Virtual Private Servers (VPS) are a Dedicated Server alternative that function almost exactly like a Dedicated Server but at a fraction of the price. A "Virtual" Private Server is your own isolated / self-contained server that allows you to install your own applications, make configuration changes, have full remote and root level access... even reboot the server! These and other factors make VPS a cost effective solution for those that need the features of a Dedicated Server – without the full expense.

ViUX™ offers three levels of hosting: Shared (SHS); Virtual (VPS); & Dedicated (DDS)... with VPS (Virtual Private Servers) at the mid-tier.

Our Virtual (VPS) service is intended for those that have simply outgrown Shared Hosting, or otherwise require a Dedicated Server; but do not wish to incur (or are unable to afford) the added expense of a Dedicated Server. Through our partnership with Parallels™, ViUX™ Hosting is able to provide Virtuozzo™ Containers as the solution.

As an Operating System (OS) virtualization solution, the unique Virtuozzo Architecture, light overhead, efficient design, feature completeness, and proven performance, enables Virtuozzo to provide for the most effective use of hardware, software, and server resources.

Each VPS performs exactly like a stand-alone server. VPS's can be rebooted independently, as well as, have independent: Users, IP Addresses, Processes, Services, Applications, Files & Folders, etc...

SWsoft’s Virtuozzo (OS Virtualization) technology makes VPS an affordable alternative to Dedicated Servers while ensuring isolation between your VPS and others on the same server, as well as, guaranteed service quality for such things as: Bandwidth (Traffic), Memory, CPU, etc.

Virtuozzo allows the hardware, as well as, expense of a server to be spilt between multiple customers each of whom enjoy full root level access with guaranteed resources and complete privacy. Multiple instances of the same service (such as: IIS, ColdFusion, etc.), can be ran on a single server with complete isolation between each Virtual Private Server (VPS).

File / Application Isolation – Each VPS customer can add, delete, and modify any file, including files in /root or C:\Windows\, and install any desired application software or customize / configure root application software... all completely isolated from and without affecting VPS instances belonging to other customers running on the server.
Performance Isolation – Heavy traffic and CPU load on one VPS will not have a negative effect on the other VPS's on the same server, due to strict QoS settings and guaranteed resource quotas based upon your particular VPS Plan.
Fault Isolation – Errors created on one VPS will not affect other VPS's. For example, a bad CGI script can crash a server, but with fault isolation, only the VPS running the script can be affected.
Resource Guarantees – Include: CPU, Disk Space, Bandwidth (Traffic), Memory (Physical & Virtual), Disk I/O, and many other critical resources (over 20).

With the included Virtuozzo Power Panel, our VPS customers can fully manage their VPS(s)... including a powerful feature for "physical server level reboots". This means that if your VPS is down for any reason, you are not forced to open a support ticket and wait for a tech to restart the VPS on your behalf. From the Power Panel GUI, you are able to reboot your VPS, as if you were standing in front of the Physical Server in the Datacenter and pressed the reset button... without having any affect on the other VPS's running on the same server belonging to other customers.

Using Plesk (web-based control panel) inside your Virtuozzo VPS, you can accomplish everything you need in regard to server management, without knowing how to administer a Windows or Linux server. Your VPS is actually easier to maintain than a Dedicated Server; however, a VPS can be effortlessly scaled up to a (semi or fully) managed Dynamic Dedicated Server (DDS) of your choice.
